Youth

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Young people are treasures and youth ministry is a vitally important part of First Evangelical Lutheran! Many opportunities are provided for youth to be actively involved in the life of the church. New ideas are always welcome. The youth here at First are gifted, loving, exciting, curious, and full of life! Our prayer is that you find a home here amongst us and as youth and parents of youth, you feel welcome to join us and be a part of this ministry.

Ministry Chair: Kay Sawyers, Dir. of Youth and Family Ministries

First Lutheran Church has multiple youth groups with age appropriate activities ranging from Kindergarten through the 12th grade. Activities are grouped by age, which are described below.

The Green Sheet is our monthly newsletter with upcoming activity dates and information for all age groups.

BUD (Building Up Desciples): Grades K-3

Building Up Disciples Club is for youth from Kindergarten through third grade. Our main goals are to get to know one another better and practice being good disciples through fellowship activities and servant events. Parents are encouraged to sign up to help with a month's activity.

DIT (Disciples in Training): Grades 4-6

Disciples In Training is the name of our group for youth in Grades 4-6. The main focus of this group is to grow together in faith and love of Christ and to become disciples of the Word. Parents are encouraged to sign up to help with a month's activity.

TGIF (Together Growing In Faith): Grades 7-8

Together Growing In Faith is the name of our group for youth in Grades 7-8. The main focus of this group is literally to grow together in faith and love of Christ and to discover ways to stay involved in the church as active participants. This group is geared towards confirmation youth.

Y LIFE (Youth Living In Faith Everyday): Grades 9-12

Youth Living In Faith Everyday is what many of the parents will remember as Luther League. It is for youth in grades 9-12. These youth are provided the opportunity to go to Leadership Training School, Western States Youth Gathering, and Mission Trips. Our goal is to continue to strengthen relationships with one another and with Christ, hopefully learning how to continue to be involved in the life of the church. Parents are welcome and encouraged to help with events.

LIFT (Living In Faith Together)

Living In Faith Together is an intergenerational program of faith building for all ages, youth and adult.

Meetings are held on Wednesdays starting with Dinner at 5:30pm. An Intergenerational activity begins at 6:00pm and ends with a closing at 6:45 pm. Each session lasts for 4 weeks.

Cost: $10 for first family member, $40 max per family

Registration: In order to plan in advance, we ask that all attending persons turn in the registration form and fees prior to the start of the 4 week session. Registration forms are available in the church office
