The following are examples of the missions that First Lutheran participates in outside of our local community of Idaho Falls and Ammon, ID:
Missionaries
First Lutheran Church supports Barbara Robertson in Morogoro, Tanzania, Africa. She works with the people in entrepreneurship development and HIV education.
10,000 Villages
Each fall First Lutheran Church hosts the Ten Thousand Villages craft bazaar. Items sold at this event come from countries around the world and provide a fair income for the people who produce the crafts.
Luther Heights Bible Camp
First Lutheran Church provides budgeted financial support to Luther Heights Bible Camp located on Lake Alturas. Also, each Spring FELC conducts a garage sale that provides camperships for over sixty youth to attend camp at Luther Heights.

Cornerstone Learning Center
The CLC daycare center is located in Ashton, ID. FELC has partnered with CLC in making physical improvements to the school such as painting rooms and hallway, installing sheetrock, providing carpet, and making restroom improvements.
Sister Synod in Tanzania
First Lutheran Church sends funds to the Tumaimi School in the Ulanga Kilombero Diocese in Tanzania. This support provides tuition, room and board, books, and uniforms for a year for four students attending the school.
AMEXTRA
This organization “Mexican Organization for Rural and Urban Transformation” is a nonprofit organization that operates its own community development projects. AMEXTRA’s efforts improve the quality of life through education, health & nutrition, income generation, emergency relief, and environmental sustainability projects.

2010 Ministry Goals
- Continue our support of ELCA missionary Barbara Robertson. Continue to provide information to the congregation about Barbara and her work.
- Continue support of AMEXTRA.
- Support 10,000 Villages.
- Support Luther Heights through the garage sale (that raises funds for campers) or family day.
- Continue support of the school in Tanzania.
- Actively support the Cornerstone Learning Center.
